The Doobie Brothers add over 20 dates to 50th anniversary tour with Michael McDonald

The Doobie Brothers recently announced plans to mount an expansive 50th anniversary North American tour in 2020 that will feature the band's former singer/keyboardist, Michael McDonald, rejoining the lineup, and now 23 new dates have been added to the 30 shows initially confirmed for the trek.

The newly added concerts span from a June 12 performance in Jacksonville, Florida, through an October 17 show in Memphis, Tennessee, which now will serve as the final date of the tour. Among the other major cities that The Doobies are now scheduled to visit on the trek are Syracuse, New York; Toledo, Ohio; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Kansas City, Missouri; St. Paul, Minnesota; Boise, Idaho; Fresno, California; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Little Rock, Arkansas; and New Orleans.

The tour is still scheduled to kick off on June 9 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Tickets for nearly all of the concerts go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 6, at 10 a.m. local time at LiveNation.com.  Premium packages will also be available, via LaneOne.com. Visit TheDoobieBrothers.com for more details.

Founding Doobie Brothers singer/guitarist Pat Simmons says of the trek, "Next year our tour will include Tom[Johnston], John [McFee], and myself, along with Michael McDonald, and the fans will have a chance to hear all our hits, as well as deep cuts, and new material. I know these will be very special performances."

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will serve as support act throughout the trek.
