Neil Young reports that new archival concert film and album, 'Greendale Live,' is due out soon

In November, Neil Young announced that he was working on putting out a variety of archival releases in 2020, the first of which will be Homegrown, a collection of acoustic tunes from 1974 and '75. Now, Young has posted a message on his Neil Young Archives site revealing some information about another project he's preparing for release this year, a concert film titled Greendale Live, which features his frequent backing band Crazy Horse.

According to Young, the film documents a 2003 show in Toronto that took place during his tour in support of his 2003 rock opera Greendale.

"Greendale is a monster!" Neil writes. "Currently in the final editing stages, this performance from Toronto with a cast of 50 plus is like a Broadway show."

He continues, "We took it all around North America in 2003, setting up that massive stage over 80 times. Now we are preparing to share it through [Neil Young Archives] and theaters."

Young adds that an accompanying album will be part of the Greendale Live release.

In his post, Neil also mentions that another live project featuring Crazy Horse that's nearing completion, an album and/or video titled Way Down in the Rust Bucket. Last month, Young also discussed the project in an online post in which he referred to it simply as Rust Bucket, reporting that it was "in final production," while noting that it will be available "in three sets and as an entire show."
